Tech pack
A versioned set of technical instructions covering drawings, materials, measurements, artwork, trims, and packing for a product.
MOQ
Minimum order quantity under a specified set of production assumptions. Ask whether it applies per style, colour, artwork, or another unit.
GSM
Grams per square metre: a measure of fabric mass, not a complete quality or performance rating.
Bill of materials
A list of the fabrics, components, trims, labels, and other materials specified for the product.
Pattern
The shapes used to define panels and construction. Patterns connect the design and measurements to a physical product.
Grading
The controlled changes used to develop different sizes from a product’s pattern and measurement reference.
Fit block
A pattern foundation for an intended wearer group and fit direction. Different groups may need different proportions.
Tolerance
An agreed acceptable variation for a defined measurement or characteristic, assessed using a specified method.
Mockup
A visual design reference for discussion. It does not replace a physical sample or complete technical specification.
Development sample
A sample used to evaluate or resolve construction, fit, materials, decoration, or other product questions.
Approved sample
A specifically identified physical reference accepted for an agreed purpose, with any exceptions documented.
OEM
A term commonly used for manufacturing from a buyer’s requirements; define the exact development scope in the quotation.
Private label
A branding and supply approach that may use an existing, adapted, or custom product. Confirm which work is included.
Colour reference
A defined physical or numbered reference used to discuss colour. Appearance still depends on material and process.
Sublimation
A print route for compatible materials; feasibility and results must be confirmed for the actual fabric and design.
Heat transfer
A family of decoration processes applying a prepared design to a surface under suitable conditions.
Embroidery
Decoration created with stitched thread, requiring suitable artwork preparation and a compatible base product.
Inline inspection
Checks discussed or performed during manufacturing rather than only after the whole order is complete.
Packing list
A record of shipment contents that helps identify cartons, styles, sizes, and quantities for receiving.
Landed-cost plan
A buyer’s estimate of product, development, transport, clearance, taxes, duties, and other relevant destination costs.
Lead time
The estimated interval for a defined stage. Confirm the start condition, assumptions, and whether transport is included.
Specification revision
A dated update to the approved instructions, showing which details have changed and which reference is current.
